2008 MilkBar International Live Film Festival

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL:

The MilkBar  (www.milkbar.org) is proud to present our 2008 INTERNATIONAL LIVE FILM and VIDEO FESTIVAL CALL FOR ENTRIES. 

The 2008 festival features 3 nights of the best new work at the lively-muddy-fun intersection of film-video-music-performance from artists around the globe. The MilkBar festival is curated and produced by Oakland’s MilkBar (Mary Armentrout, Merlin Coleman, and Ian Winters).  The festival features:

  • a mix of film/video work selected through this open call,

  • a special “live film” portion of the evening that features 5 new works commissioned for the festival through the assistance of the Zellerbach and Meet the Composer Foundations,

  • an exchange of selected films with St. Petersburg’s Open Cinema festival for the third year, and selections from additional partner festivals.

  • Performances and screenings take place September 12th, 13th, and 14th 2008 at the new Noodle Factory Performing Arts Center in Oakland.
